 Mt Hagen Cultural Show - August in Western Highlands Province An annual event that is held in mid August. It is attributed with high display of colour in rich traditional dancing and flamboyant cultural exhibitions from all regions of Papua New Guinea. There are well over 100 different singsing groups dressed in distinctly different traditional attires come together to perform their respective songs and dances in front of a roaring audiences numbering over 50,000 in two consecutive days. First held in 1964, the Mt Hagen Show moved from its original site in Mt Hagen itself to the Showgrounds after independence in 1975.

A multi-denominational church service is followed by the official opening. There is Yam carrying and other cultural activities such as dancing, until late. Storing of the yams will be judged with awards for the winners of gardening. Kula canoe racing is one of the big highlights of the festival and all participating villages will take part in full cultural performances and feasting. Village livelihood skills will be demonstrated and arts and crafts will be available for sale. Milne Bay -Annual Cameron Cultural Show - July
Heed the call of the conch shell and join the students of Cameron Secondary School in Alotau in their annual celebration of Milne Bay's culture and heritage.
Catch the rhythms of dances from all around the province, accompanied by chanting and the beat of the kundu drum. Experience a glimpse of real village life as the Cultural Village comes alive with families of students on hand to help performers dress and to coach them on the protocols of custom, to demonstrate traditional skills and to prepare feasts to mark the end of the festival. Feast your eyes on the fruits of the creative imagination and artistic skills of Milne Bay artists and craftspeople in the Arts and Crafts Exhibition. For the students, it is a journey to discovery of self and cultural identity; for spectators, it provides a window to a people's traditions , history and way of life. Come and enjoy the experience. Email milnebaytourism.gov.pg  Tufi Cultural Show Tufi lies 50 minutes by Airlines PNG domestic flight due East from Port Moresby in the Oro Province of Papua New Guinea. It has a strong traditional culture. Its history goes back for centuries. In the early 1800's British sailing ships used the Tufi Fjord as a safe harbour and eventually the District Manager's residence was established on the Tufi Station.
The purpose of staging this event is to bring awareness to overseas visitors of the Culture and Tradition of the numerous clans in the district today. It also will bring the local communities together and creates a bond and unity between them and encourage the communities to value their traditions and culture and keep what they have had for centuries alive. Traditional Sing-sing performance groups and Arts and Crafts makers from Maisin in the South to as far as Oro Bay in the North will be attending. During the 3 days of the festivities Sing-Sing performances will be held as well as continuous demonstrations in Tapa cloth making, Clay Pots-, Fire and rope making and Arts and Crafts making. National Canoe & Kundu Festival – MILNE BAY 1 - 5 November  Milne Bay Province invites you to see, enjoy and build your own experience of the unique beauty of Milne Bay's rich cultural, traditional heritage portrayed in static and animated displays. Novelty events on land and sea; competitions; sale of handcrafts and souvenir items. You also have a chance to step to the beat of traditional drums or the 'old Samarai style' music and vote for the "Golden Guitar" award.
There's something for everyone: featuring different canoe categories: Rabaraba kukakukas, island/Kula decked sailaus, mainland non-decked sailaus, kukas, Bay single-hull war canoes (Lopos), Logeia kewokewos, and Mailu puapuas. Shore activities include traditional song and dance. village livelihood skills demonstrations, arts and crafts displays and novelty activities such as the popular Crazy Raft races, Walking Boat races, childrens activities, competitions and Interactive displays from Milne Bay Administration.
